The brand, dr. can aims to promote the positive effects of CBD oils and help its customers maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. They offer a range of CBD oils with different strengths in their webshop. All of their products are made of 100% natural ingredients, and contain 0% THC, therefore it has no psychoactive effect but can be beneficial in managing a range of medical conditions, including anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain.
As a Lead Designer at Brand Bar Communications, I designed the visual identity including the logo, the color palette, the typography, the concept for imagery, and the icon style. Applying the defined visual rules, I also developed the packaging design for the products, and the UI design for the main web pages, like the home, and the product page.
goal
The goal was to achieve a visual and brand identity for dr. can that encourages a balanced lifestyle and communicates the pureness and naturalness of the products.
challenge
In the Hungarian market where CBD oil was relatively new, we needed to avoid the associations with the mind-altering effect of cannabis. Therefore, we decided that no cannabis plants or leaves should be shown directly in the main visuals such as the packaging, web design, or logo. We focused on communicating the naturalness of the products both in colors and in shapes.

The different types of CBD oils vary in how much Cannabidiol extract they contain. Indicating the percentage of the Cannabidiol, I defined for each product a different color code from pearl aqua to orange clair.
